BIOGRAPHY

Omolekan Joshua Olamide A.k.a Haffordlapes was born on February 22, 1993, to Mr Johnson . His father is a Nigerian Building Contractor  and his mother was a trader.^[13] He attended the Elect International School in Lagos. Haffordlapes studied Accounting at Moshood Abiola Polytechnic in Nigeria.^[12] Haffordlapes interest in music started during his time at Moshood Abiola Polytechnic. He bought musical equipments and started making beats, in addition to recording vocal references where he focused more of his energy towards vocals as opposed to production, his music career was sidelined after he graduated from Moshood Abiola Polytechnic. Career

Career beginnings

While growing up, Olamide developed interest in music while listening to songs by King Sunny Ade, Lagbaja, Adekunle Gold and Ebenezer Obey. He became a member of his church's junior choir during his teenage years, and went on to write his first song at the age of 15.^[7] In 2014, Olamide went solo after he disbanded a music group he formed with a friend while in tutorial. Haffordlapes was dubbed the "Photoshop Editor" after posting an edited Photoshop image of him performing with Davido cover Fall and Olamide Badoo.^[8] On 19 December 2015, he released a cover of One Direction's "Story of My Life" titled "Lojokan",.^[9]
